About

The Beekeeper

Archie Acevedo raises honeybees in Franklin, Massachusetts, as well as on private land in Medway and Millis. His apiaries are thoughtfully situated alongside organically managed flower fields and local organic farms, where all produce is grown pesticide- and chemical-free.

Archie and his wife, Amy, have raised three boys alongside their honeybees and flowers. By day, Archie works in the solar industry as a Construction Manager, bringing renewable energy projects to life. Outside of work, his time is divided between beekeeping, parenting, and hands-on craftsmanship.

When he isn’t tending hives or fields, Archie can often be found restoring his collection of vintage 1939–1946 Dodge trucks or in the wood shop, building equipment for the next beekeeping season. His dedication to sustainable agriculture and renewable energy reflects a deep commitment to both environmental stewardship and community resilience. Through his work, Archie blends traditional craftsmanship with modern sustainability.

The Bees

Our focus is producing survivor bees from regionally adapted VSH stock with strong hygienic behavior. Our Queens are open‑mated at our Medway and Franklin yards and include genetics from John Harbo, Cory Stevens, VSH Pol‑line 2.2, Minnesota‑Ohio Hygienic, and our own overwintered VSH stock. We also occasionally introduce outside VSH queens for early splits.

We work our bees bare-handed for most of the season; therefore, we select our stock for gentle temperament.
